Buying water lilies for garden ponds
Water lilies come in many sizes but most average garden ponds suit a medium-sized water lily. A larger water lily can be too vigorous and take over a standard garden pond, while smaller water lilies are generally planted shallower and are best suited for water features or very small ponds and features.
How to plant medium-sized water lilies
Water lilies depending on the variety can be planted in a depth between 30 and 90 cms and can spread around 100 cms depending on conditions and planting. Most water lilies plants come ready for planting in a mesh pond basket. However, should you need to replant we suggest using a specialist aquatic soil, an aquatic mesh basket lined with a hessian liner then topped with aquatic or non-limestone gravel or pebbles.
All our water lilies come from an RHS award winner grower and are carefully packed to arrive with you within a few days of order great condition.
